Dr. Irfan Khan is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, currently practicing at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He has been in the eye care field for almost 20 years.
A comprehensively trained ophthalmic surgeon with specialisation in all aspects of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Ocular Motility, Dr. Irfan is one of the few ophthalmologists in the world with dual training from United Kingdom and Canada.
He is sub-specialty trained in the management of Paediatric Cataracts, Paediatric Glaucoma, Retinopathy of Prematurity, Retinoblastoma, Paediatric Anterior Segment Reconstruction, common Paediatric Oculoplastic, Strabismus or Squint, Adult Strabismus (with Adjustable sutures) and Adult Cataract Surgery.
In addition to his clinical work, he has published important research in the peer reviewed press and is a sought-after presenter at international Ophthalmology conferences. He is actively involved in formulating guidelines for Neonatal screening for Retinopathy of Prematurity in the UAE.
